Forza Horizon 6 has one of the deepest progression systems in the series yet. Gone are the days where a handful of races pushed you to the top. Now leveling up takes planning, smart play, and prioritizing the right XP sources. Below we break down what works in practice and how you can climb the levels fast and enjoy the journey.

1. Understand the Wristband System First

Leveling in FH6 isn’t just a number in your profile — it’s tied directly to the wristband system. Each tier, from Tourist up to Horizon Legend, unlocks new Rush events, Showcase races, and better rewards. To level up quickly, you need Influence and XP from activities that move wristband progress the fastest.

Unlike the old “just grind races” model, this system rewards diversity — a mix of races, skill chains, and world events moves you forward more reliably than replaying the same race.

2. Prioritize High-Value Events

Not all activities give equal XP. Here’s a rough comparison based on experience and community testing:

Showcase / Festival Events – Highest Influence and big wristband progress.

Sprint / Circuit Races – Fast to complete and decent XP.

Drift Zones & Skill Chains – Great when you stack multipliers.

XP Boards & Stunt Events – Small chunks but frequent bonuses.

Running a Showcase event followed by two sprint races tends to give more overall progress per hour than repeating the same sprint over and over. Big shows are slower individually but give huge influence bonuses that unlock the next wristband faster.

A good real-world case from players: grinding drift chains on extended open roads can net hundreds of thousands of skill XP, but when combined with race winnings and first-time event completions, your wristband meters fill up significantly quicker than drift alone.

3. Make Skill Chains Work for You

Skill farming — drifting, near misses, air tricks — has grown in importance because of influence multipliers. In FH6 you can push skill multipliers as high as ×7 or better with the right car and tuning, meaning every chain earns exponentially more.

Example:

A clean drift chain on a long mountain pass in a drift-tuned car with max skill perks can give 200,000+ XP in a single run.

Chain that into a multi-player Link Skill with another nearby player doing the same skill and you stack even more points.

You don’t have to grind one skill endlessly — mixing bursts of skilled free-roam driving with event races keeps XP flowing without burning out.

4. Don’t Ignore Wheelspins and Car Mastery

Each car has a mastery tree that boosts XP and awards wheelspins and credits along the way. Players often overlook this:

Investing in a car with strong mastery perks can increase XP gains by double digits or more.

Wheelspins can drop powerful cars or upgrades that make future XP farming more efficient.

Some players even turn to U4N, buy FH6 mods — not cheats, but legitimate mod menus and tuning packages — to access cars that have better mastery trees or handling traits, speeding up progression if grinding isn’t the main goal.

Note: Avoid unauthorized cheats in online play — FH6’s anti-cheat systems are stricter than in past games and can lead to bans.

5. Seasonal Playlists and Accolades Are Free XP Too

Weekly seasonal playlists reset often and offer large XP awards for completing challenges. These are often overlooked, especially in mid-game, but they make a noticeable difference in progression curve if you check them weekly.

Accolades, which are hidden tasks for completing milestones in exploration, stunt chains, and races, also give chunks of XP on first completion, and since there are hundreds of them, they add up fast without repetitive grinding.

6. Efficient Play Beats Grinding

If you spend an hour playing strategically instead of idly repeating the same race, you’ll level much faster. Focus on:

Winning races because win bonuses add extra influence.

Combining photo challenges and promos at the start of events for free points.

Exploring the world — clearing map fog also grants XP and credits passively.

Pro Tip from the Community

A widely tested method involves starting with festival events in cities for big influence first, switching to drift and skill chains on open highways to stack multipliers, then finishing with one or two Showcase events to solidify wristband gains. Players combining these three in one session report 30–50% faster progression than doing isolated races.

In FH6, fast leveling isn’t about brute force — it’s about working with the progression systems already in place. Prioritize high-influence events, use skill chains to amplify gains, leverage Car Mastery perks and wheelspins, and make playlists and accolades part of your weekly routine.

With smart play — and sometimes thoughtful community tools — you’ll find yourself reaching higher levels well ahead of the curve.
